Few hours after JOURNALIST101 story that there are plans by the leadership of Enugu State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to forcefully takeover the ticket of the national Assembly candidates, the leaders of the party have made a u-turn and allowed them submit their forms without forcing them to sign withdrawal forms.
We had reported that the national Assembly candidates that went to Abuja to fill the form from the Independent National Electoral Commission met the shock of their lives as the top leaders of the party in the state insisted that they must sign a withdrawal form before they can be given the affidavit form from INEC.
“Our own brother and the Deputy National Chairman, South, Chief Emma Eneukwu insisted that we sign our withdrawal form before we can be given the INEC form.
“When we asked them why we must sign the form, he said it’s a directive from the National office but this is very strange to us because our colleagues from other states aren’t facing this same problem,” one of the affected candidate had told our correspondent.
But in a recent development, about four candidates that were denied the form received the form on Thursday night to beat the deadline of INEC.
“Thank you so much for that your expository story, it helped us a great deal and we have received the forms and submitted same to INEC,” one of the candidates told our correspondent.
