…Urge members to get PVC

By Ifeanyi Okonkwo

The National Association of Proprietors Of Private Schools (NAPPS), Anambra chapter has decried  the multiple taxation and other challenges been faced by it’s members in the state.

Speaking at their Convention in Awka, Mrs Amaka Ezedebego, Chairman NAPPS Anambra State said the standard of education needs to be upgraded and that it is time to change the narrative.

Speaking with journalists on the sideline, Ezedebego said multiple taxation amongst other challenges are factors confronting it’s members

“The state government gives us the kind of levy they don’t give to public schools. We are in talks with government through the commissioner of education and we are hopeful that things will improve.

BOT Chairman of NAPPS, Nigeria, Dr. Sa’id Mijinyawa, called on its members and all eligible Nigerians to get their. Permanent Voters Card (PVC), stating that it has become necessary especially now that and as educators they have to participate in selecting those that will lead the country.

“Am urging all our members to get there PVC as to enable them elect who they want to lead them. It is not a duty that anyone will perform for another. If I do not have my PVC, how do I elect the candidate of my choice. PVC is the only power we have. It is the only way we can exercise our fundamental right.

“Without good leadership, we cannot have a reasonable country that has hope. We are complaining because a good number of Nigerians are not voting and we don’t want that to repeat again.

Mr. Chuks Ezedebego on his part pleaded and appealed on Ndi-igbo to get there PVC and come out en-mas to vote in the coming general election.

“Most people feel there vote don’t count. Am assuring them that it does count.

Amb. Paul Muoneke (JP) on his part said “We are in the 21st century and every teacher needs to be updated by knowing the current trends of education and what it takes to educate the 21 century student. When education is fully supported, we will have a better nation.
