Mr. Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has revealed what he discussed with Governor Nyesom Wike when he visited the former at Rivers State and the reason for his recent his trip to London.

The presidential frontrunner had on Wednesday, June 22, visited Wike in Port Harcourt, a visit that raised speculations at a time the PDP Governor was nursing the wound of his loss as a presidential candidate and loosing out as Atiku’s Running mate.

Speaking on Arise TV Morning Show on Wednesday, July 6, Peter Obi categorically stated that his visit to Wike was to deliberate on how to move Nigeria forward.

“He (Wike) is a governor of a state that is strategically important to the future. Ports in Port Harcourt can help de-congest the ones in Lagos to generate appropriate revenue. I did not go to visit him for a gang-up” Obi clarified.

The presidential candidate also stated that he and Wike have a cordial relationship, adding that he helped him during his time as governor in Anambra state.

“He supported me with UBEC and everything when we had issues with teachers” Obi said adding that he would visit other state governors in subsequent time.

“I am talking to people who can help us find support to be able to turn around the situations we are in.

“it was a business meeting; talking to people; how are you going to help us?”.
