…Gets N10m Cash Price

Abia State University, Uturu has won a cash prize of N10 million naira for emerging as the second runner up in JAMB’s National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Award).

At the event held at the Nation’s capital, Abuja, ABSU emerged victorious in the category of Most Improved Tertiary Institution in Admission processes and gender balance, amongst all public and private universities, polytechnics and Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) awarded N500 million in prizes to 13 tertiary institutions across the country.

The winners – federal, state and private universities- were ranked best for the 2020 JAMB National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Award).

The winners shared N100 million per each of the five categories of the awards.

The categories include the most preferred institution by candidates; the institution with the highest national diversity; the most improved institution in gender balance; and the institution with the highest number of international students.

The presentation of prizes was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday, during the admission policy meeting which was chaired by the education minister, Adamu Adamu.
