Following a fresh bail application filed by his lawyers, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Tuesday, rejected the application for the bail of suspended DCP Abba Kyari.

Justice Emeka Nwite, took the decision stating that Kyari had not given sufficient grounds for the application to be granted adding that Kyari couldn’t give better reasons why he should be granted bail.

Justice Nwite said that the suspended police Commissioner was still giving the same reasons in his previous application that was rejected.

The judge adjourned the matter until Oct 19, October 20 and 21 for trial continuation.

Recall that the judge has in July fixed August 30th for the ruling on the bail plea filed by Kyari and other police officers charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for drug offence .

Kyari and other defendants who are being detained in the Kuje Correctional Centre had approached the court for another bail following the July 5th attack on Kuje Correctional Centre by Boko Haram breakaway faction, the Islamic State West Africa Province, terrorists who freed scores of their members.
