Youths from Udi and Ezeagu local government areas of Enugu State under the auspices of Concerned Agbaja Youths, have continued to drum support for the candidacy of Rt. Hon. Festus Uzor, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Party (PDP) for Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency.
The youths reaffirmed their support over the weekend when they visited the Dr. Uzor, the former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State.
JOURNALIST101 recalls that the youth organisation was very vocal in urging Dr. Uzor to join the race and were on hand to congratulate him after he picked the ticket of the PDP.
The Youths led by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Ezeagu Local Government Chairman, Comr. Jideofor Jude Chijioke said the 2023 election will be of determined by Capacity, Competency, Character & Experience”, stressing that “Dr. Uzor ticks all these boxes.”
Comr. Jideofor who’s also the Convener of the Association continued: “We have endorsed your candidacy before now, because of your unequaled track-records in public service, human capital development and selflessness in discharge of duties in offices held before and we’re confident he’s the best for Ndi Agbaja.
“We will continue to support him, before, during and after the campaigns because we’re very confident and trust in God Almighty that Rt. Hon. Dr Festus Uzor will emerge victorious in 2023 General election.”
Other members of the group that spoke during the visit includes Comr. Nebo Collins, Comr. Kingsley Okongwu, Miss. Brenda, Barr. Agu Princewill, The Legislative Leaders of both Local Government Areas and others.
In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area and ALGON Vice Chairman of Enugu State Hon. Chukwudi Austine Ozoeluba who also joined to welcome the youths, thanked them for supporting Dr. Uzor, whom he described as a sellable candidate.
Similarly, Hon. Barr. Peter Aniagbaoso a former Chairman of Ezeagu Council area, charged the Youths to be of good character and credible reputation
“Your Destiny is in your hands and any decision you you make today determines your tomorrow,” Aniagbaoso said, while thanking the group for a well thought out decision like this and pray that God will bless them abundantly.
In his response, Dr. Uzor thanked the teeming youths for the Solidarity visit and pledged not to forsake the Youth Constituency and the entire good people of Agbaja kingdom.
He enjoined them to stand up to be counted because whatever decision they take today will shape their future, adding that the youths are a critical stakeholder in the society because any decision made affects them in one way or the other.
“Everyone is a stakeholder as long as any decision taken affects you positively or negatively and this is why I regard the Youths as the major Stakeholders in any decision making.
“A stakeholder is someone who will be affected either positively or negatively by the out come of any decision. Agbaja Youths, be a stakeholder in 2023 General election and reap the fruits while living,” he concluded.
The highpoint of the visit was the donation of materials which will be deployed when the campaign starts in ernest.
