The attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to clarify the blunder in the list of their Presidential Campaign Council has failed woefully.

The list of the campaign Council caused a major confusion in Enugu State when it was discovered that the name of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and a serving Senator is in the 422-member list. The former governor who’s also the candidate of the PDP for Enugu East senatorial zone is number 350 in the list.

In effort to explain this blunder, Mr Bayo Onanuga, one of the Spokespersons of Tinubu campaign said the person, who should have been listed is former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, a member of the council and one of the Spokesmen, Mr Bayo Onanuga, clarified in a chat with a Vanguard correspondent.

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani had last month described the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most successful Nigerian governor but said vote for his own party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Lamenting the mix-up, Mr. Onanuga said the mistake could have arisen from the fact that Chimaroke shares a surname with Ken is also a prominent politician from Enugu.

“It is an error. It should be Ken Nnamani,” he said, according to Vanguard.

However, the claim of Mr. Onanuga isn’t adding up because Senator Ken Nnamani’s name is already in the list. The former Senate President is number 100 in the same list.

A chieftain of the PDP said the addition of Nnamani’s name is deliberate and the statement by Mr Onanuga has further confirmed it.

“Which error is he talking about? Ken Nnamani is already in the list and Mr Bayo Onanuga is saying that’s the name that should have been added?

“The party and our Senator should come clean on this matter. If he’s working for Tinubu, let him be bold enough to say so or if APC lacks the personality needed to drive their campaign in the South East, they should humbly seek for help from the PDP,” the Chieftain who doesn’t want his name in print said.
