The Member representing Ezeagu Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chima Obieze, has congratulated Professor Joy Ezeilo over her emergence as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Prof Ezeilo is one of the  62 legal practitioners that were promoted into the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) on Thursday.

Hon. Obieze in the congratulatory message made available to JOURNALIST101 said the Ezeilo’s elevation is an honour well deserved while praying to God to continue to preserve her.

The message reads:

My very dear Prof.,

On behalf of my family and the good people of Ezeagu Constituency, I happily congratulate you today having attained the greatest honour in the Nigerian Legal Profession as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN. You have distinguished yourself amongst your peers having attained the zenith of both your academic and professional career.

This is indeed an honour well deserving. Your legal practice has been very pragmatic, even when most of the cases you handled were done pro-bono just to see that justice is not only done but seen to be manifestly done.

You speak for the oppressed; you are a voice for the voiceless; a support system to many helpless widows; an Advocate for human (esp. women) rights; an agent for positive change; and a true crusader and believer in the Rule of Law.

You have never failed to leave signature legacy in everything you touched. As your student, I know you leave no stone unturned in your effort to impact knowledge.

Personally, I am very honoured to be a representative to such a quintessential amazon like yourself. I have no doubt that you will maximise this honour and as usual, use it to continue to fight evil and librate the oppressed.

Once again, accept my heartfelt congratulations even as we wait for the date to duely celebrate this great achievement.

May God continue to bless and order your path.
