The leadership of the Grassroots Development Movement (GDM), Enugu Chapter led by Hon. Emmanuel Emeka Amadi, has declared their support for the government candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Party (PDP), Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and all the PDP flag-bearers across the state.
GDM said this is the outcome of her emergency meeting held on Saturday the 1st day of October 2022 at Dragon recreation center, 82 Division Enugu.
The group which was founded in 2019, hitherto supported the governorship ambition of former deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Hon. Emmanuel Emeka Amadi said their decision was sequel to the decision of Ekweremadu to support Peter Mbah and other candidates of the PDP.
“As a result of the position of our Principal, we cannot, but vehemently declare our full support to our PDP standard flag-bearers; Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for lion building, His Excellency, Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu north Senatorial district for senate, Chief Engineer Osita Ngwu (RG) for senate, His Excellency, Sen Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani for senate, Chief Dr. Festus Uzor for House of representatives, Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu- Omeiheukwu for House of representative to emerge the final winner of the race come 2023. This is absolutely in the spirit of party unity, progress and sustainability.
“Now, the blunt challenge that is confronting the entire party in the zone is the test of true loyalty to the party as members of the political family who notwithstanding the odds, should come together despite the wounded hearts, to see that the party emerges victorious at the general elections. If we fail to work together to fight our common enemies (the opposition parties), then our injuries or wounds may at the end become politically cancerous and perhaps lead to our entire political demise or destruction in Enugu state. May God forbid!
“To be emphatic, no-good player or a stakeholder in any winning team can be more comfortable and secure to relinquishing their superiority and supremacy to opponents. The bitter lesson the PDP is suffering today in the country since 2015 is the carelessly and mischievously losing federal power and most of the states powers to the APC since 2015, and we as a Party of one family (PDP) in Enugu state must guide the good conscience of our zonal leaders properly not to trivialize or toy with the political structure of our senatorial zones in the hands of opponents.
“On this note, we the GDM Enugu state Chapter give kudos to Enugu west leaders and the Senate seat FLAG-BEARER, Engr. Osita Ngwu (RG) for his doggedness in reaching out to the aggrieved members of our great party (PDP) for ‘reconciliation and for peaceful coexistence of everyone in the party’ and Irrespective of the fact that ‘some heart-hardened political sycophantic individuals that are conscious of diversity and also were remained divers and at the same time wanted to be simple because of the advantages of union were around him to chase away afar the aggrieved members and his intraparty oppositions during the last concluded PDP primaries in the state inorder to selfishly and solely benefit from the incoming quality representations of which he is battled ready to offer the to the good people of Enugu west senatorial zone if elected to the red chamber, come 2023.”
