Chief Achike Udenwa the former governor of Imo has expressed sadness over the death of his deputy, Ebere Udeagu who reportedly died on Sunday evening in Owerri, the state capital.

Chief Udenwa in a condolence message to the family of late Udeagu said his death is a  great loss not just to them, but the entire Igbo race and Imo people in particular.

The Ex Imo Governor in a release signed by his media aide, Peter Agba Kalu described late Udeagu as a trustworthy and dependable colleague, whose desire to serve his people was all that motivated him into politics.

Ebere Udeagu who passed on at the age of 79 had served as deputy governor to Achike Udenwa from 1999 to 2007.

A trained water engineer, he hails from Ihube in Okigwe local government area of Imo State.
