The leader of Ezeagu Legislative Assembly, Hon Sunday Agu, has been suspended by the lawmakers in the council.

JOURNALIST101 gathered that 15 out of the 20 Members of the council sat and suspended their leader and four others.

Addressing the press after their seating on Tuesday, the deputy leader, Hon. Okafor Obidimma Stephen said their leader was suspended for gross misconduct and negligence.

According to him, the seating allowances of the suspended lawmakers for one month will not be paid.

Hon. Okafor also said that the Assembly will be going on recess and will commence seating on the 15th of December, 2022.

He warned that anyone that attempts to open the legislative chamber is a criminal and will be treated as such.

However, one of the lawmaker who doesn’t want his name in print told our correspondent that their suspended leader walked out on them today without any reason and that informed the reason for the action of the majority of the Members.

“In the records of our last seating, the adjourned to today. When we all came for the seating, without any reason, Hon. Agu and his four other lackeys walked out on us.

“His action qualifies for a gross misconduct and that’s why we took the action.”
