A video has emerged showing the lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, forcefully shaving off the dreadlocks of a youth in the state.

According to social media users that narrated what happen, the young man was at Ogah’s compound on Monday to celebrate the yuletide when the lawmaker expressed dissatisfaction with his looks and decided to ‘punish’ him publicly by cutting off his hair with a scissors.

Reacting, Chika Nwoba, Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) legislator, saying “the young man isn’t related to him”.

“This act of brigandage from a House of Representatives member goes a long way to tell you what Ikwo people are suffering from his hands. And so long as he lives and [is] active in politics, Ikwo will continue to face difficulties and crisis [sic].

“Let him try it with people who know their left from their right and see if he will not regret it,” Nwoba wrote on his known Facebook page.

So many persons condemned the action while few hailed the lawmaker for the act. The critiques said the lawmaker’s hair is also unkempt and as such, he has no moral right to ‘punish’ him because he came to his house.

Affluence Okoro asked: “Between the two, who should be cutting each other’s hair?”

Ephraim Iyke Nwonu said the action of the lawmaker is “the height of insensitivity and cruelty.”

Mazi Sinclair Nwigwe: “This is tragic. Tomorrow he will come seeking for votes. Nonsense. The young man in question should consult a lawyer for appropriate legal advice.”

Ironically, few hours after humiliating the young man that came to his house in search of probably rice or drinks, he (Hon Ogah) was seen dancing to the music rendered by another youth on the same kind of hair (dreadlock).
