The Learn To Live Business School UK during her Leadership Conference and graduation ceremony on 10th December 2022 charged its students to ensure that they build lasting systems in their businesses and organisations.

The rector of the school, Dr Kingsley Chukwuma Nelson who gave this charge said that systems  are keys for sustaining businesses and generational wealth.

In their various addresses, the keynote speakers for the conference; Dr Timothy Benedict, Lead Pastor of Divine Ambassadors Christian Assembly (DACA) and Dr Samuel Iheanacho, Lead Pastor of Destiny Life Redemption Chapel spoke on role of leadership in grooming young entrepreneurs and sustaining generational organisation through strategic system development respectively.

Pastor Timothy said: “Everything rises and falls on leadership. Businesses, Ministries rises and fall on Leadership. Economies grow on the strength of Leadership, where there is no leadership structure, economies cannot thrive. Homes are built and sustained by leadership.

“Leadership is beyond position it is responsibility. For a nation to grow and prosper, they must take up responsibility.

“There’s nothing wrong with Nigeria as a nation but there is something wrong with Nigerians. The issue or problem is with our values. No one is gifted with Leadership, it is a choice and decision. Everyone can be a leader. You can decide to be the leader you want to see in your business or community. Businesses rise and fall on Leadership.

“Leadership is the ability to discipline oneself to do what is right, just, and equitable at the expense of one’s own immediate comfort. You cannot have political stability when there’s no equity and where there is no political stability there is no economic growth. Leadership is the ability to inspire people through quality character and results to do what they never thought possible.

Pastor Iheanacho in his speech, decried the lack of succession plan in Africa, adding that without good succession plan, an organisation goes into extinct.

“In Africa we don’t talk about succession until the king is dead hence we see that play out in our businesses and organizations.

“There are three elements of effective organizational design. They’re; Structure, System, Strategy. You can’t think about building an organization without having these three processes. Without succession an organization goes extinct.

“The process of succession is tied to the leadership structure and should happen at all levels. Thinking succession is against our culture but we must be ready to change the narrative if we must live for generations beyond us. There must be a deliberate act in training and exposing the people on strategic delegations.

“Man is transgenerational in nature, it is an error. We must be intentional in raising people. Thinking transgenerational involves putting people in the right position. It is very important to place people in their gifting’s. Thinking transgenerational promotes knowledge transfer and knowledge culture.”
