A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and a former Enugu North Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Chinedue Eya, has stated that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s Achievements in Enugu North Senatorial District in the past eight years will guarantee victory for him (Ugwuanyi) in the February 25th general election before 12 noon.
Chief Eya who spoke in Nsukka on Tuesday morning, listed some landmark achievements of the governor in the zone to include School of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) in Igbo-ano, Nsukka; Enugu State Secretariat Annex, which some Government offices and parastatals are already occupying.
He further listed an international conference centre, also located in Nsukka zone for major Government functions and other high profile activities, which the former Aspirant stated, has given the zone a new face.
Eya also listed massive road projects across the zone, hospitals, equipped with modern facilities; scholarship programs for students, including those who were sent abroad, among others.
His words: “The Governor is not in a contest with anyone. Not in Nsukka Zone. And as a matter of fact, he would win his senatorial Bid before 12 Noon later this month.
“His achievements in the zone are too numerous to mention. And they are enough to win him this election square and straight and even his opponents know this.
“Some of his landmark achievements in the zone include the recent School of medical and applied sciences in Igbo-ano and the new federal Polytechnic Ohodo, all in Nsukka zone.
“And remember we also have a giant conference centre built to world standard by the Governor. You will agree with me that we have uncountable number of roads done by the governor in the zone. The over 6.1km Igugu Road; Aji-Umuogbo Agu Road; Aruotoma Ortuanya Rd; Justina Eze Street Nsukka; Obollo-Afor Junction Enugu Ezike Rd; Post Office Round About Odenigbo Ogurugu Road Nsukka; Orie Market Nkwo Ida-Afor Umuida Road IgboEze North; Ogrute Umuogbo Ulo Ufodu Aji Umuagama Umuokpu Roads; Neke – Mbu – Ogbodu Abba – Obollo Etiti Road and several other road projects in the senatorial zone.
“We have modern hospitals built across the LGAs of the senatorial district and they have been well equipped to standards. The Construction Of Amenity Hospital Ogurute, Igbo-Eze North LGA; Cottage Hospital With Isolation Wing in Udenu; cottage hospital with isolation wing in Igboeze North;Â Model type 3 primary health care centres in Uzo-Uwani, Igbo Etiti, Udenu, Igbo-Eze South are there for all to see that we’re not just making this up.
“We are not discussing the opportunities given to youths to study both at home and abroad, under the governor’s scholarship scheme.
“The list is endless. So Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who is Candidate of our party (PDP) in Enugu North Senatorial District is not in a contest with anyone. He is cruising home to Victory before 12 Noon of that election day”, Eya concluded.
