Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Abia State, ace broadcaster, Francess “Tabitha” Ogbonnaya has cautioned her people of Arochukwu/Ohafia to beware of people she described as “I just got back” politicians.

The journalist in a piece sent to JOURNALIST101 said: “Periodic election is one of the basic features of Democracy and Nigeria has uniquely embraced this all important feature.

“Arochukwu/Ohafia as one out of the 360 constitutional delineations has for the past one year been rife with political activities from Political gladiators, Spectators, Political actors, statesmen, demagogues and even Political onlookers.

“With torrents of promises from our brothers across over ten political parties including parties that can barely boast of an office in Arochukwu/Ohafia.

“This is not in anyway unexpected though!

“The political awareness had become unusually very high which is indeed a great development.
This does not exclude the very amusing sight of seeing some political minions acting “woke”.
They are all part of the Political ingredients necessary for the growth of the process.

“I must sincerely commend all of us the supporters for maintaining a high level of Empathy for each other despite conflicting Political interests. And to the Contestants, they must be applauded for showing an unprecedented level of Political maturity as they have all stuck to issues based campaigns.
Indeed this is who we are as a people and politics can never divide us.

“So, as we all jog down to the finishing line, I urge us to shine our eyes!

“Precisely, as Onye Arochukwu, we must go to the polls bearing in mind that whatever is good for the geese is also good for the gander.

“As we head to the polls, having listened to tons of oral manifestoes, read many well crafted written pacts, we must look for and at precedents . What has he done before now both as a private person or as a public office holder?

“As we advance to the D day, we must take into cognisance the availability and accessibility of a candidacy. Yes we must avoid those “big men” who only started responding to our chats simply because they need our votes!

“We must shine our eyes to avoid falling into the preying hands of all these ‘I just Got back’ politicians who remember home during and around elections only!

“We must vote someone we can hold accountable anytime anyday !

“Umu nne m, let’s “Shine our Eyes” even as I wish us all a very peaceful and rewarding Election process.

“Let’s vote right for a better Arochukwu/Ohafia!”
