The Labour Party (LP) has cleared the Presidential polls held on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the 17 local government areas in Enugu State in a landslide.
This was revealed during the local government area collation of the Presidential Poll carried out by the Enugu State Collation Officer, Prof. Madu Iwe, on Monday at the INEC’s 2023 Collation of Presidential Election Results in Enugu.
Iwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia, said that after the open collation of the result in Enugu, it would then be taken to the INEC Presidential Election Collation Centre, Abuja.
Breakdown of the local government areas results, which also show that of some leading contenders in the Presidential poll, are as follows:
For Aninri Local Government Area (LGA): Aninri LGA Collation Officer, Dr Osita Ossai, announced that the total number of registered voter is 80312; and number of accredited voters 12217.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 64, APGA 18, LP 11,339, NNPP 30 and PDP 395. The total valid vote cast is 11,889; rejected votes 305 and total vote cast 12,194.
For Enugu South Local Government Area (LGA): Enugu South LGA Collation Officer, Dr Uzoamaka Agu, announced that total registered voters are 178,654; and number of accredited voters 40,347.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 194, APGA 201, LP 38511, PDP 336 and NNPP 70. The total valid vote cast is 39,554; rejected votes 779 and total vote cast is 40
For Nkanu East Local Government Area (LGA): Nkanu East LGA Collation Officer, Dr Scholastical Eze, announced that the total registered voter is 82959; and the number of accredited voters 82183.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 94, APGA 25, LP 11,746, NNPP 53 and PDP 1430. The total valid vote cast is 13490; rejected votes 368 and total vote cast is 13858.
For Nkanu West Local Government Area (LGA): Nkanu West LGA Collation Officer, Comrade Reuben Kalu, announced that total registered voters are 101,625; and number of accredited voters 16792.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 343, APGA 93, LP 15,026, NNPP 77 and PDP 550. The total valid vote cast is 16,260; rejected votes 560 and total vote cast is 16,780.
For Udi Local Government Area (LGA): Udi LGA Collation Officer, Dr Kingsley Ilo, announced that total registered voters are 150,254; and number of accredited voters 39,062.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 611, APGA 115, LP 35,408, NNPP 204 and PDP 936. The total valid vote cast is 37,728; rejected votes 1177 and total vote cast is 38,905.
For Uzo Uwani Local Government Area (LGA): Uzo Uwani LGA Collation Officer, Dr Oladele Oluganga, announced that total registered voters are 64,646; and number of accredited voters 14,205.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 440, APGA 31, LP 11,974, NNPP 47 and PDP 1164. The total valid vote cast is 13868; rejected votes 316 and total vote cast is 14184.
For Igboetiti Local Government Area (LGA): Igboetiti LGA Collation Officer, Prof Edward Omeje, announced that total registered voters are 89636; and number of accredited voters 27509.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 476, APGA 75, LP 25,001, NNPP 108 and PDP 764. The total valid vote cast is 26667; rejected votes 720 and total vote cast is 27387.
For Isiuzo Local Government Area (LGA): Isiuzo LGA Collation Officer, Mr Francis Onyeisi, announced that total registered voters are 80,433; and number of accredited voters 19,660.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 129, APGA 97, LP 16,822, NNPP 74 and PDP 1768. The total valid vote cast is 19045; rejected votes 597 and total vote cast is 19642.
For Oji River Local Government Area (LGA): Oji River LGA Collation Officer, Prof. Bonaventure Echezona, announced that total registered voters are 83,436; and number of accredited voters 20,536.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 280, APGA 59, LP 17,793, NNPP 84 and PDP 864. The total valid vote cast is 19,228; rejected votes 716 and total vote cast is 19,945.
For Enugu North Local Government Area (LGA): Enugu North Collation Officer, Prof. Joy Ikpeazu, announced that total registered voters are 208,762; and number of accredited voters 46,485.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 229, APGA 192, LP 44,666, NNPP 113 and PDP 338. The total valid vote cast is 45,764; rejected votes 670 and total vote cast is 46,734.
For Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area (LGA): Igbo-Eze North LGA Collation Officer, Dr E.L. Adani, announced total number of registered voters 134,230 and total number of accredited voters 27,883.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 181, APGA 70, LP 15,135, NNPP 68 and PDP 1174. The total valid vote cast is 16,818, rejected 645 and total vote cast 17,463.
For Enugu East Local Government Area (LGA): Enugu East LGA Collation Officer, Mr Matthew Obanyi, announced that total registered voters are 216,477; and number of accredited voters 51,234.
The votes cast are as follows: APC 212, APGA 99, LP 48,085, NNPP 203 and PDP 845. The total valid vote cast is 49,729; rejected votes 1385 and total vote cast is 51,114.
For Ezeagu Local Government Area (LGA): Ezeagu LGA Collation Officer, Dr Joseph Chukwuma, announced total number of registered voters 88,988 and number of accredited voters 18,419.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 186, APGA 89, LP 16,245, NNPP 106 and PDP 537. The total valid vote cast is 17291; rejected votes 519 and total vote cast is 17840.
For Awgu Local Government Area (LGA): Awgu LGA Collation Officer, Prof. Edward Eserimi, announced that total registered voters are 104,800 and accredited voters 21,465.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 221, APGA 51, LP 19,803, NNPP 70 and PDP 445. The total number of valid votes 20,713: rejected votes 566 and total votes cast 21279.
For Udenu Local Government Area (LGA): Udenu LGA Collation Officer, Mr Raymond Chukwuma, announced total number of registered voters 133061 and total number of accredited voters 29987.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 327, APGA 103, LP 26,633, NNPP 213 and PDP 1157. The total valid vote cast is 28827; rejected votes 1105 and total votes cast 29932.
For Nsukka Local Government Area (LGA): Nsukka LGA Collation Officer, Prof Chukwuma Adeleja, announced total number of registered voters 204,177 and total number of accredited voters 62,340.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 433, APGA 126, LP 56,598, NNPP 196 and PDP 2037. The total valid vote cast is 59948; rejected votes 1290 and total vote cast 61,238.
For Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area (LGA): Igbo-Eze South LGA Collation Officer, Mr Bonaventure Iyida, announced that the total registered voters are 110,404 and number of accredited voters 20,959.
The votes cast are as follow: APC 352, APGA 104, LP 17,855, NNPP 82 and PDP 1009. The total valid vote cast is 19,666, rejected votes 719 and total vote cast is 20385.
Iwu said that the total number of registered voters in the state remained 2,112,793 and accredited voters for the poll are 482,990.
“On party level: APC got 4,772; APGA 1,548, LP 428,640, NNPP 1,808 and PDP 15,749. The total valid vote cast in the Presidential poll in the state is 456,424; rejected votes 12,467 and total vote cast in the poll 468,891.
“The result was signed by political parties, which included: APC, LP, BP, PRP and NNPP representative and they also collected a copy of the sum total of the collated result on INEC’s form EC8-D,” he said.
