Result of the poll

The Enugu East Senatorial Election was originally billed to hold on February 25th but was rescheduled to March 11th, following the gruesome murder of Barr Oyibo Chukwu, the candidate of the Labour Party (who has been replaced by his younger brother). The election was again shifted, due to INEC’s inability to hold the governorship and state assembly elections also billed to take place same day. It will now hold March 18.

Recall that in two previous polls, Ada Ogbu Nara had also emerged victorious over her opponents.

Ada Ogbu has been projected to emerge winner in the election, which will make her the first female Senator from Enugu State should she succeed at the poll.
