The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has laid rest the claim by the opposition party in Enugu State that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS wasn’t used for voting in Nkanu East local government area in the ongoing governorship election in the state.

The commission said that after the review, the number was reviewed downward to over 16,000 from the over 30,000 initially returned.

The returning officer, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe said the commission acted in line with its mandate to review the exercise.

Professor Iwe said the necessary persons with the capacity in the commission carried out the review and all the materials used was moved to Abuja for the exercise.

Any moment from now, the final results of the election will be announced.
