Online Media Practitioners Association Of Nigeria OMPAN Delta Correspondence has charged New Media Practitioners and information officers to be wary of sensational reportage that can undermine democratic rule in the state and in the country at large.

OMPAN-DELTA CORRESPONDENCE, acknowledged the role played by its members in the New media and in the entrenchment of democratic rule in Nigeria, harped on responsible reportage and spirited defence of civil rule in the State and the country.

The group added that the starting point to achieving this is to avoid issues that undermine the credibility of electoral and Judicial processes.

While Marking June 12 as an independence day in Nigeria OMPAN Delta also charged New media professionals to continue to engage the citizens with information that help them make informed decisions and should not engaged in fake news.”It is part of the media’s duty to keep the people informed about developments in the state until they approach the polls.”

“We must let our people know that the social protection of citizens will be M.O.R.E unabated under this Oborevwori’s administration, and that the social and physical infrastructures of the state will not, as well lack as M.O.R.E will be initiated and most part of the state will be seen synonymous with construction sites”, OMPAN Delta said.

Chairman and Secretary respectively Comr.legecy/Otiti, admonished New media professionals to be wary of the factuality of information shared before and after verifications.
