The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) in partnership with Enugu State Taekwondo Board and other relevant stakeholders and volunteers have embarked on Nationwide summer/long vacation Program and activities using the instrumentality of high performance community sports activities and other forum based activities that will help occupy the mindsets of the young ones.
This was made known by the National Coordinator POCACOV CSP Ebere Amaraizu who said the activities is part of measures set out to further inspire children and young persons to change their attitudes, mindsets, promote positive behaviours in them and build practical skills for them to thrive for a functional Community.
Amaraizu further noted that the summer taekwondo martial arts camp is in line with the Inspire activities of POCACOV and it’s volunteers across the federation.
“POCACOV inspire is aimed at promoting positive behaviours amongst children and young persons, change attitudes, mindsets, build practical skills and help create platforms for life changing opportunities which will make them thrive for a functional Community.”
He added that “the activities are entirely free and designed in line with the tenets of community oriented policing (Developmental Prevention and Community safety initiatives ) and linked to Sustainable Development Goals Agenda (17).
“During the activities, the children will be exposed to critical and strategic thinking and their resilience strengthened through exercises that will expose them to speed, endurance and strength. They will also be exposed to skills on tech hub and the effect of negative digital footprint amongst other vices .
“The Program will also add value in responsive and responsible parenting as it will also help in filling the yawning gaps of adult guidance of parenting under POCACOV in my family Activity.
“This is all about sharing of skills and knowledge and giving back to the society philosophy by our various stakeholders, volunteers and ambassadors through their various skills for a greater society and moving away from respect to materialism to respect to values, standard, morals and discipline,” Amaraizu said.
