Some residents of Kano State on Saturday, came out in their numbers to register their displeasure over the use of force to resolve the Niger coup crisis.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) had directed military forces of the member states to be on standby.

The protesters while moving in a procession, chanted, “Nigeriens are our brothers; Nigeriens are also our family.

“Niger is ours; we don’t want war; war against Niger is injustice, a plot by the Western forces.”

They displayed Nigerian and Nigerien flags alongside placards, chanting anti-war catchphrases.

The protesters join other opposing voices in the country that have kicked against the use of force in resolving the situation in Niger.

The Northern Senators and the senate had rejected President Bola Tinubu’s to put Nigerian soldiers on ground in Niger.
