The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has picked Hon. Dennis Idahosa as its deputy governorship candidate in the forthcoming Edo Governorship election.

APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and National Secretary, Ajibola Bashiru are to present Senator Monday Okpebholo, the party’s flag bearer and Idahosa to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Villa later today.

Idahosa is to replace Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama who was announced by the governorship candidate last week as his running mate.

It was gathered that Idahosa, a House of Representatives member, emerged on Sunday night after a prolonged meeting by stakeholders from Edo, the party leadership and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Also in the meeting were the party’s flag bearer, former Edo Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomole and Idahosa.

Idahosa lost the ticket to Okpebholo following the controversies that greeted the party’s shadow election of February 1 later concluded on February 21.

Idahosa had led a protest to the APC headquarters in Abuja afterwards.
