The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested one 40-year-old Shehu Sani, a resident of Ungwan Rimi, Kaduna North local government area, and three others for child trafficking offenses.

Others are Tskan Isiaku, 43, also residing in Ungwan Rimi Kaduna, Hafsat Hussaini, 24 years, residing in Unhwan Rimi Kaduna and Angela Onazu 44 years, residing in Sabo, Chikun local government area of the State.

A spokesman for the Command, ASP Mansir Hassan in a statement on Tuesday explained that a two-year-old girl (name withheld) was recovered during the operation carried out by the men of the command around 11 am on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

According to Mansir, “the individuals arrested include Shehu Sani (40 yrs), residing in U/Rimi Kaduna; Tskan Isiaku (43 yrs), also residing in U/Rimi Kaduna; Angela Onazu (44 yrs), residing in Sabo Kaduna and Hafsat Hussaini (24 yrs), residing in U/Rimi Kaduna.

“The modus operandi of the syndicate involved targeting underage children who are alone on the streets or running errands”.

Mansir encouraged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and mindful of the whereabouts of their children or wards.

“The recent arrest highlights the sobering reality of the dangers faced by children when left unsupervised, even for a brief moment.

“By staying informed and actively involved in their children’s lives, parents and guardians can play a crucial role in safeguarding them from potential harm,” he added.
