Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna is a Nigerian entrepreneur and community leader known for his contributions to business and social development in South Africa. He was born on December 19, 1968, in Ogugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.

Early Life and Education

Ogbonna attended Ogugu Central School from 1973 to 1979 for his primary education. He then pursued his secondary education at Government Secondary School Tangaza, Sokoto State, obtaining his SSCE in 1984. He furthered his education at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 1994.

Career

After completing his education, Ogbonna ventured into various industries, starting with a stint at House Ways Exclusive in Braanfontein, Johannesburg, from 1995 to 1996. He then served as the Sales Manager at Pino Management and Development Group from 1997 to 1998.

In April 1999, Ogbonna established Eaglewatch Security and Cleaning Services CC, becoming the first black foreign African-owned security company in Pretoria, South Africa. In 2006, he expanded his business interests by founding Divine Watch Security and Cleaning Services in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Additionally, in 2006, he established OGB Logistics CC and OGB Investment, further diversifying his portfolio.

In 2014, Ogbonna registered RKC PTY Ltd in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa, where he serves as the Managing Director.

Personal Life

Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna is married to Princess Adaeze Chizoba Ogbonna (Nee Obi) from the royal family of Obi Uruagu, Nnewi. The couple tied the knot on December 29th, 1999, and they have three children: Raleke Chukwubuikem Ogbonna (23), Chinazo Alicia Ogbonna (21), and Kamsiyo Chioma Ogbonna (19).

Community Leadership

Throughout his career, Ogbonna has been actively involved in community leadership roles. He served as the President of Awgu Local Government Students at ESUT from 1992 to 1994 and held the position of Director of Social in 1993. In 1994, he was elected as the Student Union President at ESUT.

Ogbonna continued his community engagement in South Africa, where he served as the President of All Nigerians in Eastern Cape South Africa (ANECSA) from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, he held the position of President of the Nigerian Union East London Branch from 2007 to 2009.

On January 14, 2024, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna was elected as Ìgwè of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu, a testament to his esteemed leadership within his community.
