Governor Yahaya Bello

The travails of Yahaya Bello is far from ending as the Federal Government of Nigeria has placed the former Kogi governor on a watch list.

Mr. Yahaya who is currently in a face off with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegation of looting over #80bn belonging to the Kogi state government was whisked away by his successor and political son,  Usman Ododo’s to avoid arrest by EFCC on Wednesday.

According to a memo by the Nigeria Immigration service which was addressed to the the Director General DSS, Inspector General of Police, Director General of National Intelligence Agency an express order has been issued for his (Yahaya) arrest anywhere he’s sighted.

“I am directed to inform you that the above named person has been placed on watch list.

“Suffice to mention that the subject is being prosecuted before the Federal High Court Abuja for Conspiracy, Breach of Trust and Money Laundering vide letter Ref; CR; 3000/EFCC/LS/EGCS.1/TE/V 1/279 dated 18th April 2024, if seen at any entry or exit point, he should be arrested and referred to the Director of Investigation or contact 08036226329/07039617304 for further action” the memo signed by ACI DS Umar (Suspect Index) For; Comptroller-General of Immigration Service reads in part.

JOURNALIST101 recalls that the anti-graft commission; EFCC had declared the former Kogi helms man wanted 

“Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.

Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station,“  the notice declaring him wanted reads.
