The member representing Awgu, Aninri, and Oji River Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, has congratulated the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, on his emergence as the ìgwè elect of the community.

Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Ogugu was elected as the ìgwè of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom on the 14th of January, 2024, after 24 years of leadership lacuna in the community.

Speaking on Sunday, when the traditional ruler-elect paid him a courtesy call at his house in Independence Layout, Enugu, Engr. Onwuegbu described Chief Ogbonna as a man of high repute, who has an unwavering quest for development and social integration.

He stated that he was happy when he heard the news that Ogugu, which is one of the communities under his constituency, had resolved their leadership tussle and also became more ecstatic when he heard that the ìgwè elect is Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr.

Chief Onwuegbu posited that such a remarkable event happening under his leadership as a Parliamentarian from the federal constituency made him more elated.

He reiterated his commitment to giving the good people of Awgu/Aninri and Oji River Federal Constituency disruptive representation anchored on delivering duties with dedication.

He assured his constituents that he would work together with all the traditional rulers for the betterment of their constituency; describing them as the people’s emissary.

In his remarks, the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, thanked Engr. Onwuegbu for his outstanding contributions to the development of their federal constituency, especially Awgu Local Government Area.

He stated that Hon. Onwuegbu’s commitment to the welfare of the people has always been visible as he is a leader with the vision of an eagle.

He, however, urged for more presence of federal government projects in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom as well as inclusion of the people in government programmes as they have been diagonally ostracised for a while now.
