Following the shocking arrest of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, and the bold invasion of the Abuja office of Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) by the Department of State Services (DSS), activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has fired a warning shot about who might be next on the government’s radar.

DSS operatives apprehended Comrade Ajaero at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja while he was en route to the United Kingdom, raising alarms about the escalating crackdown on dissent.

In a dramatic turn, the secret police also stormed SERAP’s Abuja office, demanding access to its directors.

Reacting to these provocative actions, Adeyanju took to social media to challenge the President Bola Tinubu-led administration in a biting commentary.

He suggested that the next targets for what he deems a political witch hunt could very well be former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Omoyele Sowore, representing the PDP, LP, and AAC respectively.

With biting sarcasm, he remarked, “General Bola Ahmed Tinubu: Arrested 2,400 protesters; arrested NLC President; invaded SERAP office.

“Next will be to arrest Atiku, Obi, and Sowore and say they are planning a coup. Abacha must be proud. Kudos, General Bola, keep it coming!”

Despite the gravity of his allegations, Adeyanju provided no evidence to support his claims, leaving readers to wonder just how far this crackdown will go.
