About a month after departing from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief George Moghalu has officially joined the Labour Party (LP) ending months of speculation about his departure from the ruling party.

Moghalu, a former national auditor of the ruling APC and the recent Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, made the switch ahead of the upcoming by-election for the Anambra South Senatorial district, a position formerly held by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

On Tuesday, October 1, he was warmly welcomed into the LP by the ward executives in Uruagu, Nnewi, within the Nnewi North Local Government Area.

During the event, he completed his LP membership form and was presented with a membership card, marking his formal entry into the party as he prepares to contest for the senatorial seat.
