The management of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has advised its prepaid metered customers across Enugu State who are yet to upgrade their meters to do so before 24th November 2024, to avoid losing their meters.

The advisory was issued on Friday through a statement issued by the management of MEDL.

It said this was in compliance with the Token Identifier (TID) rollover, an exercise that affects all Standard Transfer Specification (STS) compliant prepaid meters across the globe.

“Mainpower is urging the affected customers to recharge their prepaid meters to enable them to receive the three sets of 20-digit tokens needed to upgrade their meters.

“They are expected to punch in the first 20 digits and press “enter”, do the same for the second 20 digits, and the third 20 digits to complete the upgrading process.

“Any prepaid meter that is not upgraded before 24th November 2024 will cease to accept credit tokens, and the customer will lose the meter.

“Note that customers are not paying for meter upgrade, and those who have already upgraded their meters should please disregard this information.

“For more clarification, call: 0208 4700 100 or visit the Customer Service Unit at any Mainpower office nearest to you,” it said.
