Jude Nnam, a renowned Igbo gospel artist and the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), widely known as “Ancestor,” has reportedly been kidnapped.
The incident took place on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State, where the music icon was attending a church event.
The news of his abduction was shared on Facebook by Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario.
He wrote, “Please keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers. He was allegedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
“Sir Jude Nnam is the CAN National Music Director and a member of the National Liturgical Commission, CSN, among other roles. May God grant him safety and a swift release from his captors. Amen.”
Another Catholic priest expressed his concern and confirmed the report, lamenting the escalating insecurity in Nigeria.
He stated, “If this is true, it is a tremendous shame. I’m simply exhausted by the unfortunate reality of Nigeria. Why must we endure such pain and frustration? I pray this isn’t true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well.”
