The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Ondo State governorship election, Agboola Ajayi, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the electoral process in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
Mr. Ajayi was accredited and cast his vote at 10:45 a.m. at Unit 4, Ward 2 Idumado in Kiribo, Ese-Odo LGA.
The former deputy governor noted that it took over 10 minutes for the INEC BVAS to register his vote.
He stated, “The system is flawed, and there are numerous complaints all around. If INEC can’t manage a successful election in just one state, we are heading toward chaos. I suspect this is a deliberate failure on the part of INEC and the Resident Electoral Commission. We have repeatedly expressed our lack of trust in Barr Oluwatoyin Babalola (REC), asserting that she cannot be impartial. The system is compromised, and we have received numerous reports from the public about vote buying and BVAS malfunctions. This is a deeply shameful exercise.”
Mr. Ajayi also called for the resignation of the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
“I believe it is time for the public to demand the resignation of the INEC chairman if he cannot fulfill his responsibilities. He should simply step down. The situation is entirely compromised.
This is disheartening, and Nigerians are dissatisfied. Although it is relatively peaceful here to some extent.”
