The turmoil engulfing the Labour Party intensified on Tuesday as Fom Daniel Chollom, the lawmaker representing the Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives, officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
During a plenary session on Tuesday, Chollom announced his decision after submitting his resignation letter. He cited internal divisions within the Labour Party and his commitment to advancing the government’s vision for national progress as key reasons for his departure.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read Chollom’s resignation letter, confirming that all necessary procedural steps for the defection had been completed.
This is coming less than one week after four House of Representatives Members announced their defection to the ruling party from the Labour Party
