President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr Mohammed Mohammed Aminu as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

In a statement issued on Tuesday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that Dr Aminu holds a Ph.D in Automobile Technology and a Master’s in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

He brings 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development to his new position.

Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

A strong advocate for vocational education and skills development, Dr Aminu has authored numerous publications and presented research on innovative teaching methods, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation. He is also a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the Automotive and Locomotive Engineers Institute.

President Tinubu has urged the new NABTEB Registrar and CEO to leverage his extensive experience to foster transformational leadership within the agency, ensuring its continued role in assessing and certifying the skilled human resources critical to Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Additionally, President Tinubu has appointed Mr Idris Olorunnimbe as chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board, with Rasaq Olajuwon appointed as UBEC’s Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services).

Mr Olorunnimbe brings years of expertise in innovative leadership and a dedication to youth empowerment and education.

As the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016, he has led transformative initiatives across education, entertainment, and sports.

He previously served on the Board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he chaired the Stakeholder and Governance Committees, significantly advancing youth employment and entrepreneurship programmes.

Mr Olajuwon, before his appointment, was the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), while Mr Ajibulu, a Fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), is a Director at Tangent Construction Nigeria Limited and a Partner at Covenant Consultancy Services.

President Tinubu has urged the new appointees to enhance the human capital necessary for driving educational reforms and improving service delivery at UBEC, thereby ensuring greater access to quality basic education nationwide.
