…Calls on investors to seize the opportunity and invest in Pine Crest Estate, available for purchase near the market.

The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, has praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s decision to relocate the Coal Camp Spare Parts Market to a specially designed international market, calling it a bold and visionary step towards transforming the economy of Enugu State.

He described this initiative as a strategic move that will enhance trade, improve infrastructure, and create a more organised business environment for traders.

Speaking with journalists in Enugu on Monday, Architect Emmanuel noted that relocating traders to a modern market equipped with essential amenities aligns perfectly with global best practices in urban planning and commercial development.

He stated, “Governor Mbah has demonstrated outstanding leadership by ensuring that traders operate in a secure, structured, and well-planned environment. This is a significant achievement in the quest to establish Enugu as a thriving economic hub, and it has been long overdue.”

He commended the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises, highlighting how previous administrations had made similar commitments without delivering. “For decades, these traders have been promised relocation to a world-class facility, but nothing came to fruition. Governor Mbah’s ability to fulfil this promise within two years of taking office speaks volumes about his commitment to genuine development.”

Emphasising the economic implications of the new international market, the MD of Powell Homes and Shelters pointed out that its location along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway strategically positions it as a key commercial gateway.

“This market is designed not only for Enugu traders but also as a central hub that will draw businesses from across Nigeria and beyond. It represents a game-changing opportunity that will stimulate trade, investment, industrialisation, and urbanisation.”

Architect Emmanuel also commended the governor for incorporating residential areas within the market’s master plan, which will minimise the need for long commutes for traders.

“The integration of living spaces, schools, healthcare facilities, security posts, and recreational centres is commendable. It fosters a self-sufficient business community where traders can work and live comfortably. Additionally, our company has over a thousand plots of land available for sale close to the market. This acquisition was made possible because the governor designed the market in this manner. Our estate near the market offers all the amenities expected of a modern development.”

He acknowledged the significant improvements in infrastructure under Governor Mbah’s administration, particularly the opening of access roads, provision of water, electricity supply, and the establishment of essential services like fire stations and clinics.

“This initiative demonstrates a clear vision for sustainable development. It is not merely about relocation; it is about creating an environment where businesses can thrive.”

Architect Emmanuel urged traders and stakeholders to embrace the relocation and support the government’s efforts to transform Enugu into a model of modern commerce.

“With this infrastructure in place, the possibilities are limitless. This is an opportunity for traders to own their shops, build wealth, and contribute to the state’s economic growth. Governor Mbah has set a new standard, and we must all align with this vision.”

Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to supporting infrastructural projects that drive economic growth and enhance urban development, expressing optimism that the relocation of Coal Camp traders to the international market will herald a new era of prosperity for Enugu’s commercial sector.
