The Enugu State Gaming Commission has officially announced the upcoming 2025 Enugu Gaming Conference, set to take place on July 30 and 31 at the International Conference Centre in Enugu. Under the theme “From Unification to Diversification – Shaping Nigeria’s Gaming Future,” the conference aims to address the dynamic changes within Nigeria’s gaming sector.
At a press briefing on Wednesday, Prince Arinze Arum, Executive Secretary and CEO of the Enugu State Gaming Commission, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “This year’s edition is particularly significant… The theme reflects not only the current trajectory of the gaming sector in Nigeria but also the bold and necessary conversations we must have in response to the growing diversity of players, regulators, technologies, and jurisdictional realities that characterise our industry today.”
Arum highlighted the ongoing transformation within the Nigerian gaming landscape, noting a shift from a traditionally centralised regulatory structure to a more diverse, state-led approach. He remarked, “This diversification, though challenging, offers a unique opportunity for innovation, inclusion, and growth—particularly when guided by collaboration and shared values.”
The 2025 conference aims to unite various stakeholders, including regulators, operators, technology providers, legal experts, financial institutions, and public interest groups, fostering a platform for open dialogue and policy harmonisation. Attendees can expect a variety of activities, including:
– Panel sessions with industry thought leaders and executives.
– Exhibitions showcasing emerging technologies and regulatory solutions.
– The formal unveiling of Good Cause Projects aligning with global best practices.
– Strategic roundtables involving government agencies, investors, and civil society.
– Networking opportunities for startups and operators looking to expand into the South East market.

Arum reiterated the Enugu State Gaming Commission‘s commitment to being a progressive and proactive regulator, emphasising the need for a well-structured and socially responsible gaming environment. “Fostering a transparent and responsible gaming sector is essential to driving sustainable development within the industry and unlocking its full economic potential,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the contributions of partners and sponsors, urging more organisations to join the initiative. “We invite more players, sponsors, and development organisations to come on board and be part of this transformative journey,” he said.
In closing, Arum appealed to the media to continue supporting the gaming sector by promoting informed discussions. “The gaming sector deserves nuanced, data-driven, and constructive engagement. We count on your platforms to tell the full story—of promise, progress, and responsibility,” he concluded.
The Enugu Gaming Conference 2025 is poised to be a pivotal event, aiming to catalyse reform, innovation, and partnership within Nigeria’s gaming industry.
