Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, has characterised Easter as a period for forgiveness, love, and the reinforcement of unity among various creeds and tribes.
In his Easter message directed to the people of Enugu State and the nation on Saturday, Mbah remarked, “As Christians in Nigeria join other Christian faithful across the world in celebrating the feast of Easter, I wish everyone a blissful celebration and pray that they experience the redemptive power of the resurrection.”
He further elaborated, “Easter is a lesson in the lifelong benefits of sacrifice. It teaches us about the virtues of penitence and moderation.”
Mbah highlighted the essence of the season, stating, “Above all, Easter is a lesson in love and selflessness. Easter reminds us of our common brotherhood and humanity. And its celebration is a call to forgiveness and peaceful coexistence.”
He urged the populace to utilise this solemn occasion to pray for Nigeria and to extend love across different creeds to fortify unity. “That way, our dear country can overcome all its challenges,” he added.
The governor concluded by wishing the people of Enugu State and all Nigerians a joyful Easter celebration.
