The rescue mission was bolstered by a coordinated effort from the Joint Security Force, which includes the military, civil defence, and local vigilantes. This collaboration aims to track down the armed criminals responsible for the incident and recover a second vehicle—a black Lexus 350 SUV with registration number ABJ 557 LD—that the kidnappers used to escape.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, emphasised the importance of community vigilance in the fight against crime. “I urge all residents to remain alert and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of our state,” he stated.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the details of the incident and the ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects.

As the investigation continues, the police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the manhunt.
