Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have taken into custody a newly married woman, Saudat, for allegedly poisoning and fatally stabbing her husband, Salisu.
This tragic incident occurred in the Farawa community just two days after the couple’s wedding ceremony on Sunday.
Sources indicate that the marriage, arranged by their families, lacked a genuine emotional connection between the couple.
It has been alleged that Salisu was initially hesitant about the marriage but was persuaded to proceed.
Tensions escalated within the community following the news of the killing, leading some youths to attempt mob action.
However, police intervened promptly, arresting the suspect and preventing the situation from deteriorating further.
