The ongoing exodus from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) persists as three members of the House of Representatives from Katsina State have officially declared their defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This announcement was made during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Abuja and was conveyed by the Speaker of the House, Rep Tajudeen Abbas, who presided over the proceedings.
The departing lawmakers cited the persistent internal crisis and unresolved issues within the PDP as the primary reasons for their decision to leave the party. They stated, “The instability within the PDP has made it difficult to effectively serve our constituents and align with progressive governance.”
Their defection represents another political gain for the APC as it continues to strengthen its influence across key states.
In a display of solidarity and support, the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, was present in the chamber to witness the lawmakers’ formal announcement.
