A 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, has been detained by operatives of the Odo-Noforija Police Division in the Odomola community of Epe area, Lagos State, for possessing human organs believed to be intended for ritualistic purposes.
According to a statement from the Lagos State Police Command, Oghenebreme was arrested on April 25, 2025, following credible intelligence from concerned members of the public who reported his suspicious behaviour.
Hundeyin detailed that preliminary investigations indicated the suspect was allegedly transporting the human organs from Edo State with the intention of delivering them to a native doctor for a suspected money ritual.
“The recovered organs have since been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for proper preservation and forensic analysis,” the police confirmed.
The case has been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution, as the origin of the crime falls within their jurisdiction.
Olohundare Jimoh, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, commended the swift actions of his officers and the vigilance of the Odomola community.
“This arrest underscores the importance of timely information sharing between the public and the police. We commend the community for their alertness and urge continued cooperation,” Jimoh stated.
He assured residents that the Lagos State Police Command remains dedicated to protecting lives and property, encouraging all citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
