The much-anticipated Nkanu Youth Economic Summit 2025 has been officially unveiled, marking a bold step toward transforming the economic future of young people in Nkanu zone.
Dika David, the President, Nkanu Youth Organizations noted that the event is; “Designed as more than just an event,’ adding that, “the summit is a strategic initiative aimed at repositioning Nkanu youths from passive spectators to active participants and leaders in the business world.
“The summit promises to equip participants with critical skills, knowledge, and resources to thrive in Nigeria’s fast-evolving economic landscape. At its core is a practical empowerment model anchored on a structured internship and apprenticeship system inspired by the renowned Igbo nwa-boi apprenticeship tradition.”
Dika added that “for a duration of six months, participants will undergo rigorous hands-on training, business mentorship, and sector-specific guidance under the supervision of industry professionals. The initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurial mindsets and foster self-reliance among Nkanu youth.
“In addition to the apprenticeship component, the summit offers a robust funding and startup support system. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive financial backing to launch their own businesses—giving them a critical lifeline and a chance to establish themselves as emerging business owners in their communities.
“With this initiative, the Nkanu Youth Economic Summit 2025 is set to serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment, local economic development, and sustainable entrepreneurship in the zone.”
