President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals to key leadership positions in various federal government institutes, agencies, and commissions.
The announcement was made on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @aonanuga1956.
Topping the list is Senator Ken Nnamani from Enugu State, who has been appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Also named is former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim from Ebonyi State, who will now serve as Chairman of the National Merit Award Committee.
The former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has been appointed Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Sports.
Other appointments include:
- Omobolanle Akinyemi Obe – Ondo: Director-General, National Senior Citizens Centre, Abuja
- Dr. Segun Aina – Osun: Director-General, Academic Staff College of Nigeria
- Mr. Ayodele Olufemi – Kogi: Executive Director (Monitoring and Implementation), Nigeria–São Tomé Joint Development Authority
- Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed – Osun: Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC)
- Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir – Borno: Director-General, National Centre for Women Development
- Sen. Jalo Zarami – Yobe: Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission
- Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu – Nasarawa: Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission
- Momoh Jibril – Kogi: Board Member, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN)
According to the statement, all appointees are expected to undergo screening by the Nigerian Senate before final confirmation.
