The Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his administration’s two years in office, describing it as a period of “transformative leadership and people-oriented development.”
In a statement issued to mark the second anniversary of the Mbah administration, Dr. Onoh noted that the governor had proven his promise of a “business unusual” approach with the slogan “Tomorrow is here”, delivering concrete results in record time.
“When His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah took office on May 29, 2023, he promised ndị Enugu an administration that would be ‘business unusual.’ Many people did not understand the meaning at first, but in just three months, his leadership began to show clear results,” he said.
“Today, Governor Mbah is a household name and reference point for people-oriented leadership, known for delivering on his promises and focusing on real development at the grassroots level.”
Dr. Onoh declared Enugu North Local Government Area the biggest beneficiary of the state government’s policies and projects under Mbah’s leadership, citing extensive road construction, urban renewal, security interventions, and socio-economic programs.
“At the flag-off and completion ceremony of hundreds of urban roads in 2023, 2024, and 2025, the state government awarded and perfectly completed many of these roads in Enugu North Council. This shows the government’s focus on improving infrastructure to enhance the lives of residents,” he said.
He listed key achievements including the provision of hundreds of operational vehicles for security agencies, installation of modern CCTV surveillance, the establishment of a world-class Command and Control Center, procurement of CNG buses, and the erection of a modern computerized museum—all of which are located within or benefit Enugu North LGA.
“What about the absolute eradication of the sit-at-home order and the construction of modern bus terminals, which has tremendously improved businesses and the economy of the state, in which Enugu North LG is also a major beneficiary?” he added.
In the education sector, Dr. Onoh highlighted the implementation of the Smart School Project across all 13 wards in Enugu North, which he said would revolutionize teaching and learning with modern tools and methodologies.
He also emphasized the administration’s focus on healthcare, noting that each ward in Enugu North now has a functional primary healthcare center, ensuring access to basic health services.
Other notable developments in the LGA under Governor Mbah’s watch include the establishment of a tractor assembly plant to support local farmers, ongoing construction of an international hospital, and a 5-star hotel—all located in Enugu North.
Dr. Onoh further praised the improvements in electricity supply, particularly the siting of the headquarters of Main Power Electricity in the area, which has enhanced steady power supply to homes and businesses.
He also pointed out that the recruitment of health workers across the state had significantly strengthened healthcare delivery in Enugu North.
“Within the first two years’ tenure of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the administration recruited health officials across the state, and Enugu North Local Government Area also benefited, which has copiously improved the system of the council,” he stated.
Concluding the statement, the Chairman extended his congratulations to Governor Mbah and the Enugu State Government.
“On behalf of the people of Enugu North Local Government Area, I congratulate Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the Enugu State Government on two years of hard work and progress. We are proud to have a leadership that puts the people first. We look forward to many more years of development under their guidance,” he said.
