Former Governor of Abia State and Senator, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Professor Jubril Aminu, describing him as a distinguished scholar, diplomat, and statesman whose contributions to Nigeria remain indelible.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Kalu lauded the late professor’s intellectual brilliance, integrity, and dedication to national service.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Professor Jubril Aminu, a distinguished scholar, diplomat, and politician. He was a man of great intellect and integrity, whose service to Nigeria inspired generations,” Kalu said.
Kalu recalled Professor Aminu’s impactful leadership during his tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Education and later as Minister of Petroleum Resources, noting that his visionary guidance helped shape key sectors of the nation.
“As Minister of Education and later Minister of Petroleum Resources, his visionary leadership helped shape critical sectors of our country. He was a true elder statesman and very personal to me,” he added.
He further stated that Prof. Aminu’s legacy would endure through the institutions he strengthened and the lives he touched during his decades of public service.
“Prof. Aminu’s legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the institutions he helped build. Nigeria has lost one of her finest,” Kalu concluded.
Professor Jubril Aminu, a renowned academic and former Nigerian ambassador to the United States, was widely respected for his contributions to education, diplomacy, and national development.
