A potential aviation disaster was averted today after two Air Peace flights suffered multiple bird strikes and were forced to return to base for emergency safety checks.

The affected aircraft, Flight P47190 bound for Port Harcourt and Flight P47151 en route to Owerri, encountered the bird strikes shortly after takeoff, prompting swift action by the flight crew to safely abort the journeys and return to base.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace confirmed the incidents and reassured the public of its strict adherence to aviation safety protocols.

“Earlier today, Flight P47190 to Port Harcourt and Flight P47151 to Owerri experienced multiple bird strikes upon arrival and had to make a return to base for safety checks,” the airline said.

The prompt response of the pilots and technical team was credited for preventing what could have escalated into a major emergency. The airline expressed sincere regret for the flight disruptions and offered an apology to affected passengers.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appeal for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to minimize disruptions and resume normal operations as swiftly as possible.”
