Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down a blockbuster €30 million-per-season offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, despite the club agreeing to trigger his €75 million release clause at Napoli.
According to sources in Italy, the 26-year-old Nigerian forward remains firmly committed to continuing his career in Europe, signaling his unwillingness to make the switch to the Middle East just yet.
Al-Hilal, under new coach Simone Inzaghi, had pushed aggressively to secure Osimhen’s signature before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup on June 14, seeing him as a marquee addition to bolster their attack. The Saudi outfit reportedly presented a massive salary package aimed at tempting the striker, but Osimhen was unmoved by the offer.
While Osimhen spent the last season on loan at Galatasaray, his next destination remains uncertain. However, what is clear is that his priority lies in staying within Europe’s top football leagues.
The rejection underscores the striker’s ambition to remain at the highest level of competitive football, even in the face of astronomical financial incentives.
