The Abia North Peace Foundation has fiercely criticised a recent meeting convened at the residence of Chief Chima Agbaeze in Isuikwuato, describing it as a political charade designed to malign Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. The gathering, styled as a “Committee of Friends” under the banner of the so-called “Coalition for Equity and Justice in Abia North,” was dismissed by the Foundation as nothing more than a desperate bid to distort public perception.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, and Assistant Secretary, Pastor Caleb Kalu Awa, the Foundation accused Chief Agbaeze of fronting for a failed political actor and labeled the event a “political masquerade.”

The statement read:

“Chief Chima Agbaeze is an infamous local champion known for sycophancy and propaganda. His latest outing is the handiwork of a desperate political actor who has lost both relevance and credibility.”

The Foundation reminded the public that the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi axis has held the Abia North Senate seat for a cumulative 16 years — four under General Ike Nwachukwu and 12 under Comrade Uche Chukwumerije — without any clamor for rotation or equity by the present agitators.

“In comparison, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has served for just eight years, yet he has brought an unprecedented level of development, federal presence, and national recognition to Abia North,” the group stated.

They highlighted Kalu’s achievements, citing road projects, school construction, scholarships, job creation, and legislative competence, arguing that his record surpasses all previous holders of the seat.

“The Senate seat is not a ceremonial token to be passed around like a village masquerade costume,” the Foundation added. “It is a mandate that must be earned through performance, capacity, and the democratic will of the people.”

Looking ahead to 2027, the group expressed confidence that voters would not be deceived by what it called “shrine loyalists and pseudo-activists peddling falsehood and blackmail.”

“No amount of propaganda or orchestrated outrage can erase Senator Kalu’s legacy or halt the forward march of democracy,” the statement concluded. “We stand firmly behind Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and urge the public to dismiss the noise from Isuikwuato disguised as a call for justice. The true injustice lies in letting desperation pose as equity.”
