Enugu State, under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at positioning the state as a hub for global technology outsourcing.

The programme, known as Project Turing, is being spearheaded by the Enugu SME Center and Office of Digital Economy in partnership with Turing Tech. It offers 12 months of world-class full stack software engineering training, leading directly to guaranteed remote or hybrid jobs earning at least $1,500 (about ₦2.4 million) monthly.

Announcing the initiative, Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and MSMEs, and Director-General of the Enugu SME Center, Arinze Chilo-Offiah, described it as “an outsourcing revolution designed to curb the ‘Japa’ trend by bringing global opportunities to our talented youth right here in Enugu.”

According to Chilo-Offiah, successful applicants will pay a commitment fee of ₦400,000 to access the programme, which includes:

  • Elite, globally benchmarked training
  • Mentorship from international industry leaders
  • Guaranteed job placement through Turing Tech’s global outsourcing network

He outlined the projected earnings for participants:

  • Year One: ₦1,066,666.67 monthly (₦12.8 million annually) while repaying training and placement fees.
  • Year Two & Beyond: ₦2.28 million monthly (₦27.36 million annually), with further growth potential based on performance.

“This is more than just training — it’s a pathway to world-class careers without the need to leave Nigeria,” Chilo-Offiah added. “We are equipping our youths to compete globally from the comfort of Enugu.”
