Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in 2027, insisting that no major opposition figure can defeat him at the polls.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today aired on Channels Television, Kalu declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and ex-Anambra State Governor Peter Obi “do not stand a chance” against Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Tinubu’s economic reforms and leadership record will give him a decisive edge over any opponent.
He also issued a warning to Jonathan, stating that the former president is constitutionally barred from contesting.
“The President has done well to turn around the nation’s economy,” Kalu said. “Atiku, Obi, and Jonathan cannot defeat him in 2027. And Jonathan should not even contest because he is constitutionally banned from doing so.”
Kalu’s remarks come amid growing political realignments and speculations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
