The Enugu State Unity Forum (EUF), a prominent socio-political group supporting the re-election of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has pledged to embark on an extensive grassroots sensitization and mobilization campaign across the Enugu East Senatorial Zone to ensure his seamless return to office in 2027.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Enugu East Senatorial Chapter of the Forum at the Enugu East Local Government Secretariat, Nkwo-Nike, on Tuesday, the Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwatu, said the group’s mandate is centered on amplifying the governor’s record of good governance and development-driven leadership.
According to Nwatu, the group was formed organically by individuals inspired by Governor Mbah’s performance and vision for the state.
“We are especially attracted to what Governor Peter Mbah is doing in Enugu State, and because we are touched, we brought ourselves together,” he said.
“We’re an organic group — not doing this because we hold any position in government — but because we are impressed and happy with what the governor has achieved and continues to do in Enugu State.”
He emphasized that the governor’s projects were not only transforming the present but also securing a better future for generations to come.
“What he is doing now is not only for us but for our children and our children’s children. We formed this Unity Forum to reinforce the support we already have for him,” Nwatu added.
“Everyone is showing support in all 260 wards of the state, telling our people about the governor’s good works. His second term is by merit — it will be seamless — and we’ll keep saying it until 2027.”
Nwatu explained that the newly inaugurated executives would lead door-to-door advocacy across villages, wards, and polling units to highlight the administration’s achievements.
“The governor has already finished the campaign for us because, in every ward, you can point to one project or another he has completed,” he said.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Council, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, lauded Governor Mbah as a visionary leader “nurtured for the moment” to unify Enugu State and steer it toward sustainable progress.
“He has seen the future. He’s working to bring everyone together to build that future today and enjoy it tomorrow. Governor Mbah is the one losing sleep more than any leader in the state because he’s thinking beyond Enugu city or Government House — he’s thinking about all 260 wards,” Anike noted.
The council chairman praised the governor’s inclusive governance style, recalling his extensive ward-to-ward consultations during the last campaign.
“Mbah was the first gubernatorial candidate to tour nearly all the wards, listening to the people and incorporating their needs into his development agenda. He plans to begin another ward tour soon to evaluate progress and prepare for the years ahead,” he disclosed.
Anike further described Governor Mbah as “the epitome and symbol of unity in Enugu politics,” adding that his administration embodies the United Nations’ principle that peace and development are inseparable.
“There can’t be development without peace, and there won’t be peace without development,” he said. “Governor Mbah has achieved both, building roads and bridges not just in infrastructure but in human unity.”
The event, which drew community leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the zone, marked a renewed commitment by the Enugu East Senatorial Zone to rally behind Governor Peter Mbah’s administration and ensure continuity of his transformative governance beyond 2027.
